My wife and I are suckers for awards shows and this year’s Primtime Emmys were no exception. While I was able to catch well-deserved Emmy wins from two of my favorites, Kate McKinnon and Patton Oswalt, sleep got the better of me and I missed some great moments, chief among the reuniting of Andy Sipowicz and Bobby Simone.
Seeing Dennis Franz and Jimmy Smits together reminded me how much I miss the 15th Squad of “NYPD Blue”. The landmark moments of this show are vast and tough to single out. But among them, this final scene with Jimmy Smits still reduces me to a blubbering mess,…
,…the immense gratification I felt seeing Bobby and Andy onscreen one last time in the show’s final season,…
,…in between witnessing the evolution of the once irredeemable Sipowicz,…
,…and, of course, the numerous cans of whup ass Andy would open up on a perp along the way.
Think I miss this show much?!
How about you? What cancelled TV shows still tug at your heartstrings?
Hi, I'm Pete Rizzo, early morning elixir for your weekends.
I love music and I love talking about it. I grew up listening to bands like Rush (best band on the planet!), Van Halen (Diamond Dave all the way), AC/DC (Bon rules!) and Genesis (the Gabriel years). But my true love is progressive rock and heavy metal. The louder, crunchier, more bombastic and self-indulgent, the better!
When I’m not on the air, I’m either training in martial arts, deciding which tattoo I should get next, reading a good book (I still enjoy turning actual pages), or my wife and I are planning our next big travel excursion.
I’m on every Saturday and Sunday morning. You can also follow me on on Twitter @PeteRizzoWBAB. I’d love to hear from you.
